Y’Desha Alsup is an esteemed member of AVID Center, where she serves as Organizational Learning and Development Strategist within the People Operations Team. She brings a substantial wealth of knowledge and experience, significantly contributing to our pursuit of excellence for our staff and partners. Prior to her current role, Y’Desha dedicated over a decade to the position of K–12 Program Manager in the Eastern Region. Her invaluable expertise spans curriculum and instruction, school and district leadership, and the implementation of AVID Elementary and AVID Secondary programs. Her roles as an AVID Elective teacher, AVID Coordinator, and AVID District Director further enhance her proficiency. Y’Desha’s introduction to AVID two decades ago sparked a passion for our mission that remains unwavering. Her experience as a classroom teacher and a school and district leader across multiple school districts echoes the journey of many of our partners and staff, reinforcing her commitment to continuous learning, growth, coaching, support, and excellence in all endeavors.

Y’Desha’s firm belief in excellence with caring has guided her personal and professional journey. Her skills in communication, management, leadership, team building, professional learning development and facilitation, and strategic planning, as well as her ability to lead and navigate operational and personnel problem-solving, significantly enhance our organization’s value. She is a discerning sense-maker, a collaborative thought partner, and an innovator who consistently prioritizes alignment in all our activities to meet the needs of our partners, students, and staff, thereby facilitating the attainment of our mission.

Y’Desha is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and a proud alumna of Florida A&M University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and two Master’s degrees in Educational Leadership and Public Administration.
