Jaime Sandoval spent the early part of her career working for the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Emerging Business Center. During her time there, Jaime successfully mentored small business owners as they navigated San Diego’s business landscape. Jaime later entered the private sector as an account manager in consumer and market research. While overseeing Fortune 500 accounts, Jaime led high-performing account teams who collected and analyzed consumer analytics and market trends. While exciting and challenged in this role, Jaime was ready for a change.
Now a new mom, Jaime joined AVID in 2012 in an administrative support role on the AVID Elementary Team. She immediately knew that AVID was the right fit because of its culture and mission of changing students’ lives. Over the next several years, Jaime learned various facets of the organization, which allowed her to take on responsibilities ranging from the contract procurement and planning professional learning events to managing curriculum development projects. Jaime served many of her AVID years on the Learning Programs, Products, and Services Team, where she held titles such as senior project coordinator and associate project manager. Eventually, Jaime joined the Project Management Office where she now serves as director.
Jaime is a firm believer that we create our own career pathways with hard work, curiosity, and lifelong learning. Jaime leads her team through a people-over-processes approach and by modeling the importance of investing in relationships.
Jaime is a proud mom to her teenage son and San Diego native who can be found exploring the city with her family. Whether on the golf course, traveling to new places, or in the kitchen, Jaime enjoys sarcastic banter and healthy discourse.
