Brett is an experienced educational leader with extensive background in instructional transformation, change management, and systems design. Passionate about serving all students as they progress on their path toward college and career readiness, Brett looks to inspire and equip school and district staffs to work together for the greater good. With a strong belief in the collective power of educators, Brett strives to bring focus to the work of school improvement, find simplicity within the dynamic nature of education, and help groups of any size build their capacity to reach ambitious goals for themselves and the students in their charge.
Biography
Brett Bowers serves as the Vice President, School District Leadership. Prior to joining AVID, Brett was a teacher and administrator for almost 25 years, more than half of them spent as principal of two award-winning high schools in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin, area. Brett is passionate about harnessing the collective power of educators for the good of all students. As an educational leader, former adjunct professor, and speaker, he operates from the belief that when unified by common commitments and working within coherent systems, educators and leaders can create vibrant learning cultures in which all students are held to high standards and are nurtured and supported to meet them. Brett brings a passionate, practical, and inspiring approach to the work of school improvement.
